Cory Piette joined PFM in 2000 and is currently a Senior Managing Consultant in the Structured Products Group. He provides technical direction and execution for the swap advisory practice, focusing primarily on the incorporation of derivatives into tax-exempt debt management. In this capacity, Mr. Piette is responsible for structuring, modeling and pricing various forms of derivatives including swaps, caps, collars, floors and swaptions as well as monitoring clients’ derivative portfolio market value positions.

Prior to joining the swap advisory practice, Mr. Piette co-managed PFM’s defeasance escrow portfolio structuring and restructuring practice, and completed a large number of complex escrow restructurings to achieve savings for clients in excess of $50 million using transactions that optimize post-settlement investment earnings from tax-exempt as well as taxable bond issues.  Mr. Piette was also responsible for the pricing and documentation of various forms of structured investment products including guaranteed investment contracts, repurchase agreements and forward delivery agreements.

Mr. Piette is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Materials Science and Engineering.
